I've returned from New York and the annual Wings Club gala, the 1,000ish-invitee black-tie1 event at the Hilton Midtown that some of us call “nerd prom.” This year, the club bestowed its Distinguished Achievement Award on Ed Bastian and the "employees of Delta Air Lines."
